What a crazy but fun week!! We had two field trips, one to the Hitman hockey game and one to TELUS Spark Science Centre, and both were amazing! The students were engaged and well-behaved and we are so proud of them.
In Humanities, we have reviewed democracy and the pillars of democracy and are moving on to our unit on ancient Athens, the birthplace of democracy. We are continuing to read out novel, "Airborn," and students are creating their own mysterious creatures. We have brainstormed some features our creatures will have and have sketched them. Students gave each other feedback, which they will use for the descriptive writing portion of the assignment. In math we continue to work with fractions and have focused on mixed and improper fractions. The beginning of next week will have us solving problems using both of those and we will finish the week learning about how to order fractions using different strategies. We have learned about all of the 6 different properties of air. Ask your child what they are! Who knew!? haha We will continue to learn about aerodynamics and flight over the next few weeks.
