In math we learned how to take a percent and express it as a fraction and a decimal. We will be having a quiz to wrap up fractions, decimals and percents on Tuesday, April 10. There are several video links and game links on the resources page that students can use to review the concepts if needed. I have also encouraged the kids to take home their math duotangs in order to review the following:
In addition students will work with probability: certainty of events, theoretical vs. experimental, probability of certain events etc. In science we used the thrill of flight website to learn the different parts of an airplane and how the different parts of an airplane work in order to keep the airplane stable and allow the plane to maneuver in different ways. We continue to learn about Ancient Athens in Humanities. We reviewed what we already learned and did some online research. Students also finished their mysterious creature projects. They should have two good copies of writing (descriptive piece and a myth OR new article) and an illustration. Many students were not done their homework and are taking it home to finish this weekend. Together, we did a practice LA PAT and are learning some strategies to use when taking certain types of tests. We will do a practice PAT (either math or LA) every Friday until June.
