This week, we started a "Turkey Problem" in Math, in which students have to solve different problems in order to effectively serve their guests turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. These challenging questions have had students working together to figure out various equations and problems. We will continue this work next week.
In Science, we explored the forest ecosystem a little more and learned about the different organisms and their life cycles. Students learned more about the nutrient cycle and related it to their favourite foods. In Humanities, we talked about the society we live in and what it means to be a citizen. We discussed having rights and responsibilities and students debated which rights were most important to themselves. We also did some mapping activities and introduced the three levels of Canadian government. We will focus more on this next week. Some other activities that you can ask your child about that we have been working on in class: tree art project, article of the week, class newspaper, Friday stations, Shout Outs and class meetings. Have a great weekend and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
