Students were busy this week in Humanities writing news articles and starting the creation of our class newspaper. Stay tuned for our first edition coming home next week. We looked at the parts of a news article and checked out the website, Newela. Passwords for login are on the "additional resource" section of our blog. Students also created a democracy visual journal page, with the pillars of democracy as the main idea.
In Math, we continue to work on division and are starting to get the hang of doing long division questions. We continue to do "speed drills" every week to work on our basic facts. In Science, students are learning more about trees and forests. Ask your child about the different levels of the forest and about food chains and the nutrient cycle. A letter will be going home next week about Healthy Hunger lunch...stay tuned.
